Terms of Service

Welcome to QuizLens. By installing, accessing, or using the QuizLens browser extension and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Your Account
To use QuizLens, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use QuizLens.
2. Free and Pro Plans
QuizLens offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan:
- Free plan: Includes up to 5 quizzes per day, 3 question types, and core gamification features. The free plan is available indefinitely at no cost.
- Pro plan: Unlocks unlimited quizzes, all 7 question types, bonus XP, streak freezes, screenshot mode, and the full badge collection. Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription.
We reserve the right to modify the features included in each plan. If we make changes that materially reduce the value of your current plan, we will notify you in advance.
3. Payment and Billing
Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you select). By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method at the start of each billing cycle.
- Prices are displayed in USD and may be updated from time to time. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period.
- Payment is processed securely by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your payment details.
4. Cancellation
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time through Settings > Subscription > Manage in the extension. When you cancel:
- You will retain full Pro access until the end of your current billing period
- Your account will automatically revert to the free plan after the billing period ends
- Your XP, level, badges, and streak history are preserved regardless of your plan
5. Purchases
All purchases are final. Because QuizLens offers a full-featured free plan with no time limit, we encourage you to explore it thoroughly before upgrading to Pro. This way, you can be confident that Pro is the right fit for you. If you cancel, you'll continue to enjoy Pro benefits through the remainder of your paid period, and your progress is never lost.
If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing Pro features you've paid for, please contact us and we'll work to resolve it promptly.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use QuizLens in a lawful and respectful manner. You may not:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense any part of the Service
- Submit content that is harmful, abusive, or violates the rights of others
7. Intellectual Property
QuizLens and all associated content, features, functionality, branding, and design are owned by QuizLens and are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the text you highlight for quizzing. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process that text solely for the purpose of generating quiz questions for you.
8. Content You Submit
The text you highlight is processed to generate quiz questions and is not stored permanently. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you submit to the Service. QuizLens is not responsible for the content of third-party websites you interact with.
9. Service Availability
We strive to keep QuizLens available and functioning smoothly at all times. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance, updates, or improvements that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any interruptions or downtime.
10. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm other users or the integrity of the platform. You may delete your account at any time through the extension's settings or by contacting us.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
QuizLens is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements, that quiz questions will be perfectly accurate, or that the Service will be error-free. Quiz content is generated automatically and should be used as a study aid, not as a sole source of information.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, QuizLens shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of QuizLens after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of QuizLens shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
